The Mill collaborated with Marvel Comics and GARAGE Magazine, renowned makeup artist Pat McGrath, and fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier to bring the magazine’s Spring/Summer 2016 issue to life.
The magazine covers were styled by GARAGE Fashion Director Charlotte Stockdale with beauty direction by Pat McGrath.
The new special edition covers feature Candice Swanepoel, Adriana Lima, Lexi Boling, Cuba Tornado Scott and Karlie Kloss as Marvel-inspired characters Spider Gwen, She-Hulk, Captain Marvel, Thor, and Black Widow. When viewed through the newly relaunched GARAGE mobile app, the fierce heroines transform into 3D superheroes, bursting from magazine cover into a 360 augmented reality experience, controlled by the reader.
What could be more badass than that?
The Tenth Issue of Garage Magazine
To accommodate for these explosive new covers, the Mill’s development team rebuilt the GARAGE mobile app from the ground up. The result is an intuitive and powerful AR platform to bring the pages of the magazine to life and act as a home to all things GARAGE, including past and current cover content.[1]
GARAGE Magazine was an early adopter of integrating 3D technology into print. By exploring the digital as a new mode of visual communications, each new issue of GARAGE Magazine and its multidimensional features push the boundaries of fashion, art, and now comic culture.
“Super heroes meet Supermodels in this unique collaboration with Marvel for the tenth issue of Garage Magazine.
Merging the powers of style, beauty, technology and the infinite reaches of the human imagination, these super heroes of fashion emerge from the pages of Garage in all their 3D swashbuckling glory.”
said Charlotte Stockdale, Fashion Director at Garage Magazine.[2]
